The size and width of thin section bearings vary according to their use and application. These bearings are made from 52100 chrome steel and 440C stainless steel. They come in a series as well, consisting of the SR series, the 6700 series, the 6800 series, the 63800 series, and the 6900 series. Some sizes of these bearings can be produced open, shielded, or sealed. A bearing is considered a thin section bearing when the bore diameter is greater than 4 times the radial cross section. There are three contact styles for thin section bearings. The three styles are radial contact, angular contact, and four point contact.
